Is it time for women in combat?

Officially anyway, since the lines have become so blurred of late. I'm sure women would make fine combat pilots, and for infantry, if they can pass the same qualification as the guys, why not? I guess on a fundamental level, I'm bothered by the idea that half the population can tell the other half, 'No, we won't ALLOW you' to do something or other . That's not very American imo. If women have finally achieved full-fledged equality in this country, shouldn't they have a say in the matter and not just men? What do you think?
