On the subject of tantrums, someone asked what could be so bad, So I ask:?

some parents have seen tantrums - the floor kind - and others have not. Why do we think we see some kids go off the deep end - all answers are helpful as it's likely to be a lot of factors. On thought many of us have gotten at is this: it's not that anything is SO bad, it's that for some kids behaving that way gets them a pay off. My neighbor's kid has full fledged tantrums whenever we're over, but inevitably her mom gives in eventually. I think she's learned that at the first sign something might ot go her way that if she screams bloody murder they'll likely to back off of her. and she uses it. what do you all think?
