How long does an animal cruelty case take to be resolved in Texas?

I am interested in adopting two pitbull puppies from Houston's B.A.R.C but I can not adopt them yet due to their being involved in an animal cruelity case. I was wondering how long I have to wait to adopt them until the case has been resolved. They were seized from their owner for abuse, what kind of abuse I'm not sure however. Please help! Thanks!
