Does Ringling Brothers Abuse Their Animals?

So i'm going to the circus soon and i've seen all these stories of how they abuse animals but how does anyone know for sure. PETA could be looking for a story. I don't like animal abuse and animal cruelty but i don't think that they do. I just want to know is it true that they abuse their animals?
